Roy Nix

—— Golf Professional & an Assoc. of Golf Club Fitting Professionals Master of Golf Club Technology Clubfitter and Clubmaker

“In all my years of teaching the golf swing I never dreamed that by simply custom fitting the clubs I could help golfers swing better. Swinging a misfit golf club is like driving a car without a steering wheel. Once you fit the clubs to the golfers physical ability and skill level it’s like adding the steering wheel to the car. He can make the swing he is capable of making with ease.”

I have been a golf professional since 1967 and completed the PGA Business School in 1968. I have been called “one of the best clubfitters & clubmakers on the planet, and probably better than 98% of clubfitters in the world” by Tom Wishon

I have been consulting my son in his new venture, EX Golf. I helped him design his irons and wedges and I can offer Factory Direct Pricing on his clubs. We assemble them in my golf shop to the same standards as my custom clubs.

We Can Help You

What Are You
Looking For?

I custom fit and custom build to suit your age, ability and physical condition. All building is to fit your swing so you can perform to the utmost of your ability to hit quality golf shots and enjoy the game more. My building techniques may take up to one hour per club depending on the build. I optimize shafts not by a letter flex but to the best flex or in between flex for your ability. Length is determined by your height, physique, and wrist to floor measurement and your imput for what is comfortable for you. Heads are weighted to balance the club so that you can swing it as fast as possible based on your ability and as consistently and accurately as possible. Every factor of your age, physical condition is considered in how your clubs are built. I build clubs to MOI standards because it make each club feel like all the others and it is a much more precise method of matching clubs than swing weight. I measure shafts in 7 position along their length to determine the over all flex profile in placing them in your set.

What My Customers are Saying

I have hundreds of happy golfers who write me about their improvements after a successful clubfitting and getting their custom made clubs. My custom building process is superior to 98% of the golf clubs built today. There are many things I can do as a master craftsman that an assembly line or retail just can’t spend the time to do and still be profitable. Similar to buy a suit off the rack and having it hemmed to fit you, versus going to the best tailor in town and having your suit custom fit and sewn by the tailor.

Custom golf club fitting and custom clubs are the best way to go for several reasons. Firstly, custom fitting ensures that the golfer’s physical attributes and swing characteristics are taken into account when selecting the appropriate club specifications. This results in clubs that are tailored to the golfer’s unique swing, leading to better performance on the course.

Secondly, custom clubs offer a wider range of options in terms of clubhead design, shaft material, and grip size. This allows golfers to choose the specific components that suit their individual preferences and needs, resulting in a more comfortable and enjoyable playing experience.

Thirdly, custom clubs can often be adjusted or modified over time as the golfer’s swing changes or as new technologies become available. This means that the golfer can continue to use their custom clubs for many years, rather than having to constantly purchase new off-the-shelf equipment.

In summary, custom golf club fitting and custom clubs are the best way to go for golfers who want to optimize their performance on the course and enjoy a more personalized playing experience.
