Maltby MTF Forged Iron Set 3 - PW

Price

$799.00

Brief Description

The Maltby MTF True Forged irons are forged from a raw billet of 1035 carbon steel using an exhaustive 5 step forging process. This process shapes the smooth cavity design and distributes the weight properly without the need for additional machining. This special forging process gives the MTF irons a strong and dense grain structure. Better players will find the blade profile appearance to be very traditional and the feel to be exceptionally solid thanks to its Super Game Improvement rating (in the Maltby Playability Factor for irons). The Maltby MTF True Forged iron is one of the highest playability forged cavity back, blade profile irons available.

Maltby MMB Forged Iron Set 3 - PW

Price

$799.00

Brief Description

The Maltby MMB Form Forged irons are the result of the challenge to create a muscle back type design that has a high degree of playability (Super Playability Category of the Maltby Playability Factor). As a part of the design, we wanted to have features on the design that actually showed how mass was redistributed to improve playability. This was accomplished by using “weight relief pockets” and a unique (inverted) muscle design. All this while still giving the player the feeling that they were looking at a traditional blade profile. If the feedback from our product development test committee is any indication, we succeeded, with honors. The Maltby MMB irons bring a new level of playability rarely seen in the muscle back blade category.

Maltby KE4 Iron Set 3 - PW

Price

$749.00

Brief Description

KE4 Iron = Following the original Kinetic Irons in 1989, other weight adjustable irons have appeared on the market and are available today, but none with the versatility, playability or quality of the KE4 irons. Simply adding weight cavities to existing designs and profiles does not guarantee the proper mass and dimensional characteristics needed to produce high performance.
Over two years in development, the 2006 version of the Kinetic improves on the original, both in form and function. Advances in Investment Casting technology allow for an incredibly easy weight adjustment system that eliminates the need for lead tape or hosel weighting. There are 4 weighting options in the form of metal screws. The screws are available in; 2 gram (aluminum), 4 and 6 gram (stainless) and 8 gram (tungsten) options. The heads can be ordered with no weight screws (MA0032), allowing the club maker to customize the head with any of the weight screw options (this allows nearly unlimited head weight, mass distribution, finished club length and shaft selection options.). The KE4 irons can also be ordered with two 4 gram weights installed (MA0022), which bring the heads to the GolfWorks standard specification weight.

The KE4 irons are also one of the most cosmetically appealing irons The GolfWorks has ever developed. The finish is a mirror polish on the perimeter and sole, with a non-glare satin finish on the toe area of the face. The top-line and face have a matching bead blast finish, another non-glare feature

Maltby Glider Iron Set 4 - PW

Price

$699.00

Brief Description

The new Maltby Glider Irons are another example of expanding the norm in search for more playable clubs. This iron has been under development for well over a year and the results yielded one of the most playable irons ever developed. The 5 iron came in at 1197 points, at the top of the Ultra playability category. The actual vertical CG of .450" is the lowest we have ever measured. This feature makes the Glider iron one of the easiest irons ever to get the ball airborne. In testing the iron, the ease to which the longer irons got the ball to the optimum trajectory was amazing.

The face thickness is an ultra thin .100" (2.5 mm), to allow for more mass in the sole. The three cavity design provides the structural support for the thin face. The sole width is 1.68" with a sole radius of 7". The bounce angle is only 1 degree in the DI through the 9 iron, but the sole width and radius provide just the right amount of effective bounce on the full swing shots. The combination of the sole width, bounce and radius make the Glider design almost impossible to hit fat. The steeper swing path player will experience a much more consistent and shallower divot pattern. The sweeper, with a more shallow swing path, will find the wide sole glides easily along the surface of the turf. With extremely low cg, the player with the sweeping type swing path will find getting the ball to the proper trajectory on every club very easy. The DI iron is so easy to hit off the tee, providing excellent distance and trajectory, that we decided to designate it a “Driving Iron” to encourage players to use it from the tee when hitting the fairway is a must.

The Glider sole design also increases your short game arsenal. The wide sole design works extremely well around the greens. The long and mid irons are perfect chip and run clubs from the fringe. The higher lofted Gliders work much like the extremely successful Sand and Lob Sliders, giving a player the consistency of trajectory and roll that is difficult to get with conventional designs.
