Talk about a coming out party. One of the first clubs in the SMT line, and 366 yards later it won the 2003 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship. This is the only head from the original group of 7 to remain in the lineup.
The Shinnecock is the longest clubhead we have when measured from heel to toe. It’s long and slender shape affords the lowest center of gravity and best feel of the entire line of SMT heads. I designed this head for myself back in 2002 and it surely has stood the test of time. Once you hit this low slung beauty you will immediately put your current driver up for sale on the locker room bulletin board.
The Shinnecock has a very forgiving design, especially for the player that tends to have their mishits happen in the heel or toe area. Every single shot has a unique solid feel regardless of where you make contact on the face.
This head is a favorite of the person looking for traditional good looks and high soaring shots. The Shinnecock tends to play almost ½ of a degree higher than the stated loft |
